Think about it… it’s all about “this could happen”, that could happen” so let’s drive up the prices. It’s the same song every year about inventory, unrest, supply - nothing significant happens, but the prices still go up and never really seem to come down.
And they have used this little-known Loophole to line their greedy pockets at the expense of families and small businesses.
Since the loophole was opened, billions of dollars have flowed through the loophole like water over the Niagara Falls and traders have pocketed the cash – driving up the price of energy and, in some cases, manipulating it for personal profit.

It’s called the Enron Loophole and in 2000, Enron lobbyists succeeded in exempting energy commodity trading from federal oversight actions so they could pass the “Enron Loophole.”
Heating oil retailers have been working with members of Congress for the past three years to fight high oil prices by closing the Enron Loophole, through their trade association, the Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association. But they need our help!

Virtually overnight, the loophole freed certain energy trading platforms from federal oversight requirements. It opened the door to excessive speculation and energy price manipulation.
Now their greed is damaging the country one family at a time.
So while Enron is long gone,
its legacy remains.
These new unregulated “DARK MARKETS” are now the dominate energy trading environment; resembling the Wild West more than Wall Street. Congress should pass the “Close the Enron Loophole Act” and bring the rule of law back to the energy markets.
